A sweet smiling company initiated by 3 brothers Vijaykumar, Dineshkumar & Anilkumar Lodha in 1991 with determination of shifting to manufacturing from trading company which was found under their father’s guidance late Shri Bhagchandji Lodha. They started with manufacturing of Lump Sugar (Mishri), being committed on quality along with divergent thinking MB became largest producer in India. To diversify and grow business, they researched that pharma companies were importing Raw materials in bulk but sourcing it was expensive and not easy to transit, which aided them to explore untapped opportunities in Indian pharma sector. Pharma grade sugar was one such key excipient in making pharma products.

This led to inception of M B Sugars & Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. in 1997 which manufactured high quality pharma grade sugar that facilitated to resolve issues related to sugar and played a vital role by introducing the concept of various particle sizes of sucrose to increase yield. MB started to retain significant presence and was nicknamed “The Solution Provider in the World of Sucrose” and became synonym for Quality and reliable after sales. MB Sugars became only company in the world to have US-DMF and Drug License to manufacture sucrose. In 2001 business expansion took place and production capacity was double in chorus MB ventured into consumer products division by manufacturing sugar cubes, sachets, other value-added products and range of specialty sugars for Hospitality & Bakery. This added to the brand value and products are seen in star hotels/ corporate offices /retail outlets.

With vision of becoming “Global Leader in supply of sugar & specialties” and mission of “being quality excipients supplier to pharma industries” MB has set-up world-class GMP plant which 1 st in Asia for manufacturing Spray dried & Fine grade Mannitol and a plant to manufacture Sugar spheres and Tartaric Acid Pellets.

Each of the brothers has one son and they have joined the business to take it to greater heights. Samyak looks after Consumer Product Division and Exports, has been instrumental in branding building while other Rushabh & Saurabh look after innovation & product development.

MB is eyeing to enter into couple of other excipients/nutraceutical products and also increase range of consumer products in coming years. Currently Pharma Products are exported to 25+ countries from Malegaon city.

Believing that the business future existed in rural areas and Malegaon know as the handloom hub MB Sugar & Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. was the only industrial company established. It helped generate employment and also improved the socio-economic status of the remote area.
